Today during homeroom time students were discussing honestly and dishonesty- important concepts relating to our ESLR of Principled.
We discussed some reasons why people are dishonest.
"Fear" was a reason we discussed at length.
We also talked about looking at the short term and long term consequences of dishonesty and lying.
While the short term gain might look attractive to a student when they lie, they may end up with a bigger negative consequence because of it. Students considered examples that fell into this category.
These are important skills for Grade 6 students to learn to help them reason, make good choices and make sense of our world.
Mr Blanck and Mrs Gould did a great job of leading our students today.
